The Nutshell

Dear Parents,

Last Friday was a truly memorable day at Hazelwood, celebrating the King’s Coronation. Led by Hazelwood’s Head of English, Fiona Clark created a wonderful day involving a ceremony, singing, tree planting, Royal relays, acts of community service and much more for all the pupils. The next few pages of this Nutshell edition give a fantastic glimpse of how the day unfolded for all our children with a full write up by Mrs Clark on page 2. The Early Years site also celebrated with a picnic outside and various craft activities including crown making and singing. Everyone joined in this special day which was made even more enjoyable by the sun making a welcome appearance in the afternoon.

Parents of Year 7 and Year 8 pupils saw their children in action in the classroom last Friday. The brave group enjoyed lessons in a variety of subjects, with the sessions on DNA, MacBeth and Mr Mac's unique interactive rivers experience in the Bawtree Hall proving particularly popular. Thank you to all our parents for being such good sports!

In the meantime, auditions and rehearsals are well underway for the much anticipated Hazelwood Talent Show taking place on Friday 26th May for which tickets are now on sale. As always, we look forward with great excitement to the evening, not least finding out who our celebrity judges are! We wish the children, and the judges, the very best of luck.

Best wishes,

Lindie
