Wildlife Pond Development

We’re delighted to share the news that the wildlife pond, based on last year’s SDG project, is now finished and ready to be explored and enjoyed!

The children and the Grounds Team have worked incredibly hard to provide a biodiverse wildlife space, that will improve as time goes on as more wildlife and insects begin to make it their home. There is currently one resident in the pond - a rescue goldfish called King Carrot!

We are incredibly grateful to the HPA, whose generous funding of approximately £70,000 this year has enabled us to transform our outdoor provision through enhancements to the pond area, the development of Forest School spaces in the Lower School and the creation of an outdoor classroom and sensory garden, which will take place during the summer.

Their support also includes funding towards a vehicle for the Estates Team, so we’re able to extend our impact beyond the school in community engagement.

These initiatives will provide enriching, hands-on learning environments for all of our pupils.
