School Life - Introduction
School Life is rich and varied at Hazelwood with a timetable which allows each child to enjoy a wide range of subjects. During their time at the school they make full use of the school's excellent classroom and recreational facilities. As pupils progress through the school, they are taught by specialist teachers in subjects such as Maths, English, Science, Latin, History and Geography.
The experience-based approach to learning begins the moment your child enters our Oak Reception Class, continuing until the day they leave to go on to the secondary school of their choice at the end of Year 8.
The curriculum falls into four stages:
The Early Years Foundation Stage: Nursery and Reception.
Key Stage One : Year 1 and Year 2.
Key Stage Two: Years 3-6.
Pupils in Years 7 and 8 begin their Key Stage Three curriculum.
The variety of subjects taught at Hazelwood, and the engaging manner in which they are taught, ensures that children's memories of the classrooms at Hazelwood are happy and rewarding ones.
