Welcome to The Baily Building
The school is delighted to announce that its new build project was completed on time to be able to welcome the children into it for the start of the new academic year in September 2016. The project was completed in just over 13 months which was far from unlucky for Years 3,4 and 5 whose classrooms are located within the building. The Baily Building, named after the school's founders, also provides a teaching home for Upper School Geography, Latin, RS, PSHEE and English. The magnificent building which nestles into the landscape across three floors also boasts a Recital Room, a small Food Tech kitchen, a Lower School Art Room and the 450 seat Bawtree Hall which, with its expanse of glass, has a fine view across towards the Weald of Kent and Ashdown Forest. The architect has cleverly used curves and glass to contrast and reflect the new building with the old which now sits more firmly at the heart of the school site and of the pupils' daily lives.
The School would like to take this opportunity of thanking the neighbours for their patience whilst the new build was taking place. It will be officially opened on December 9th at a special Gala Concert which is being planned.
