Religiuos studies
Religious Studies encourages a reflective approach to living. It facilitates a knowledge and understanding of religious beliefs and practices, and develops skills in the formation of opinions based on evidence and argument. The subject forms a distinctive element of the curriculum whilst sharing the task of fostering the total development of the children.
Religious Education at Hazelwood is a particular area of the curriculum where values come alive in the classroom. The aim is to help pupils develop respect and sensitivity for all people and to understand more of the importance of religion in today’s world. At the same time it is hoped that the pupils will be able to build on and appreciate the relevance of Christianity as a living faith in their own lives and in the lives of others.
