A day of VIP Celebration

Grandparents’ Day at Hazelwood School is always one of the many highlights of a busy annual calendar.

Once every two years, the school and nursery thrown open their doors to grandmothers, grandfathers, papas , nanas, grandmas and grandads as a way of saying Thank You for all their support of the school and its pupils.  The children love showing off their school, sharing their work and entertaining their grandparents and family friends.  The event is always filled with smiles and laughter.

This year was no different with over 400 VIP guests joining the children for a morning of classroom visits, refreshment and musical entertainment.  On the main school site the visitors were treated to music from our young cellists, the choirs, flute, wind and string ensembles and the school’s ten-handed ‘pianist’.  The weather added to the sense of summer occasion with wall-to-wall sunshine.  The home-baked cakes proved popular with many grandparents sneaking a few extra treats to feed their expectant grandchildren!

A morning full of delight and celebration.
