Hazelwood School is an independent preparatory school for boys and girls aged 4 - 13 years old. Set in twenty five acres of glorious woodland, playing and sports fields, the school's history dates back to 1890. Since that time, the school has earnt itself a reputation for inspiring academic achievement and pastoral care of the highest order.  In September 2009 we were delighted to establish The Larks Nursery, offering the same level of childcare and developmental support to children as young as 3½ months through to 4 years.

Each child is encouraged to discover their own potential through supportive teaching, creative activities and superb facilities. Every stage of development is individual and our teaching is designed to bring out the best in our pupils.

  

We pride ourselves too on our all-inclusive policy when it comes to sport, music and the creative arts. All our pupils are encouraged to take to the stage in school productions, play as a member of a sports team and to join one of our many school orchestras, choirs or bands.  It was a delight, at the most recent Reigate Music Festival, to hear the celebrated musician and woodwind adjudicator, Paul Harris say

And a happy one too!  Our school calendar is always full of exciting and colourful events. 

 

We successfully prepare pupils for secondary education. This year we have pupils moving onto a wide variety of Senior Schools including Caterham, Sevenoaks, Ardingly, Tonbridge, Woldingham and Eton.  60% of these have won scholarships for which we congratulate them.
